Thursday 30th June Sooke Potholes/Whiffin Spit

Glorious day and head breakfast overlooking this

Sooke harbour

Bald Eagle flew overhead and a hummingbird gave me a shock by peering through the bars of the balcony! Very surreal.

Our first stop was Sooke Potholes Park. Walked up through the forest first to a little waterfall

and then back to Sooke river

Merganser having a big stretch
Just a few water boatmen

Then back into Sooke for a late lunch at Momma’s. Delicious and good value as always.

Needed to walk some of it off so a short stroll down Whiffin Spit.

That was the house where we stayed last time we were here
View from the end of the spit
Pigeon Guillemot with a mouthful
Another White crowned Sparrow

Now back at the apartment with a Kingfisher flying around. Sounds like he’s having an argument with someone!

Sitting playing cards and these guys come to see us
