Friday 17th June Rathtrevor Beach/Englishman River estuary/Little Qualicum River fish hatchery

What a change in the weather today. Forecast said cloudy and it was quite a strong breeze but got warmer and sunnier during the day.

Our first stop was to Rathtrevor beach as I was determined to capture some pics without standing under a shower! Finally got to see the Mummy Starling taking food into her babes. They must still be too small to poke their heads out.

In she goes
And out she comes

The beach here is huge and the scenery very beautiful
And the smell from these rose bushes is amazing

Next we were off to Englishman River estuary.

The usual robin in sentry duty
Haven’t seen so many deer here as usual but there was one waiting here to greet us
Love seeing these mountains on the mainland in the distance
As I was taking this shot a hummingbird stopped in front of us, stared at Paul who was looking the other way and flew off disgusted
And the usual bald Eagle above
And my first pic of a Willow Flycatcher
Love these trees

Now off to Little Qualicum river fish hatchery.

Could be a walk in England

Except the robin’s are a little larger!
And I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a yellow rumped
warbler in England

Finished the day off doing a shop in Thrifty’s and now home on the balcony listening to a bald Eagle shouting. Perfect end to the day.
